Do I need to submit my web site to search engines?

I know in the 'old days' you needed to submit your site to search engines. Do you now? What's the fastest, easier way to get a site to start getting spidered...? Thanks!

It is always advisable to submit your site to search engines and besides that there are several things which you can do to expedite the indexing of your site:
- bookmark your site on social bookmarking sites
- build links to your site by directory submissions, article submissions etc.
- attach a blog to your site to get indexed by google blog search

Now adays, spiders and bots will find your site easily. But if you want to make sure you can always submit directly.

google.com/addurl To submit to google.

Also, try submitting to free web directories to increase traffic. Such as Xeenit!

No, there is no need to submit your site to search engines. They will find it through links.
