Once the same words are in your META title, description and keywords, and also in other text (Alt and comments) and displayed content, and you are satisfied with your results, and only then, is it appropriate to submit your URLs to each major search engine. For search engine submission to just the top few search engines you may use our URL ADD page with links to the add pages of the major search engines.

The engines will regularly discard search engine submissions without processing them. By resubmitting you have a higher probability of having one of your submissions take. Also, some indexes appear to give preference to fresh submissions as determined by the date of last update and the last submission date. So you should update your site often following prescribed organic Search Engine Optimization tactics and resubmit at least twice per month.

The best way to get the search engines to come to your site is by leaving a link on a blog or pinging your website.

These techniques has had me indexed and ranked in as little 3 Min's, not always but almost always in 48 hours.

These are much better ways in getting the attention of a search engine.

First, you should create an xml sitemap and upload it to your server. Submit that sitemap to Google after you've created an account with them. Or, you can use a validation code in your home page header.

You can get a validation code from Yahoo to place in the header section of your home page: between the head and /head tags.

though submitting your site major SEs may help but you still need to work more on content..

Getting for the major search engines is only one small piece of online marketing because once you?re indexed in the major search engines you still want to come up in the top search results for your keywords.
To get indexed you could go:

MSN - http://search.msn.com.sg/docs/submit.aspx
Many online marketing specialists say it?s better for a search engine to find your website naturally instead of asking the search engine to visit your site you can start a linking campaign by getting links from other relevant websites.
When the search engines crawl those other websites which are linking to your website to search engines spiders will find your site and index it naturally.

So what I advise to you is do it both you can submit your URL, but don?t sit around waiting for the major search engines to come to you ! ! ! bring them to your site by getting quality links.
