Sitemap: should it include my dynamic links (.php?)?

I'm trying to generate a good site map for a website that is partially php / mysql

How deep should the sitemap go into the sections of my site that are dynamic? What I have generated only goes to the directory of the index.php application but no further. Is this good enough or will this get my dynamically generated content ignored?

Google Sitemaps...

I downloaded a freeware program to generate the xml file but it does not go very deep / does not follow the dynamic links (even though I have permalinked them)

Are you talking about a 'Sitemap' page for your site or 'Google Sitemaps?? http://www.seo-blog.com/sitemaps.php

In either case you should list your dynamically created urls identifying the important parts of you site.

If you are talking about your own sitemap on your site, the sitemap generator will do the work for you and decide which pages/pieces are important.
