How much do webmasters make,is the market flooded?

a lot. depends too on who your clients are. you can get 15 easily for designing a website for a large law firm. no, it's not flooded at all and with new businesses popping up everyone needs a website. that's what i do part time. i charge a mere 100 an hour.

The market is flooded with people that think they are webmasters.

A real Webmaster will have spent time in school, know how to configure a server properly, spends countless hours keeping up with security and changes to eqipment, knows a pile of code in more than one language and can type it all in something as simple as notepad.

There is no set wage for a webmaster, it all depends on who they are working for. Most webmasters that I know are employed either with the government or with internet service providers.

I don't know what a webmaster is, but I do work for a very large firm supporting and building web site infrastructure. There is always room for people who understand and can configure a web site's infrastructure, write good code, and design a beautiful and easy to use site. People who are very good at this can easily make more than 100,000 dollar a year.

I agree that the market is flooded with wannabies and those who THINK they are webmasters. There is a strong need for good ones. Good webmasters make over $100k a year US. Great ones make $250k US a year.
