how does one put an ad or logo on a blog/website? so that people can click on......?

....... say, my favorite neighborhood mom & pop cafe or even a larger, established company. for example, only an example, ford or pepsi. in other words companies/products that have nothing do with whatever you are blogging about.

AND also, is adsense the only way that to easily put ads on a blog? all i seem to read about is adsenseadsenseadsense.

but frankly speaking, if you asked me, banner advertisement doesn't really work anymore. :-) try something else....like affiliate programs.
