Does anyone have any good advertising tips?

I have a website and need to promote it. Does anyone know how to do that without paying a bunch for advertising?

The easiest way with out paying one cent would be to use socialmarker.com. You will put a page up on your site and run through its submissions to social bookmarking sites. Be sure to sign up for all of them first.

Hi i have a site myself www.information-world.co.uk i have been using article marketing with great sucess. Simply write a few interesting articles about the content of your site and post them to some of the many article directories on the internet and leave a link in the signature box to your site, www.ezinearticles.com is probably the most popular one.

This method is great for creating backlinks to your site (search engines love backlinks), not only will people click through to your site using the signature link at the bottom of your article, but you will also get others using your articles on their sites if they are good enough and best of all they have to keep the articles intact meaning a link to your site from theirs. Imagine 300 sites had your link on them thats a lot of exposure.

Another great way to get free traffic is by posting on other peoples blogs and leaving a link back to your site. For instance say you had a gold site, you would look for golf related blogs and post some interesting content to the message board e.g helping people improve their golf swing then leave a link at the bottom of your post. Again this is great for creating backlinks to your site.
