Does anyone know any good ways to promote a new business?

Postby jordanatmeh » Fri Nov 06, 2009 2:35 am

I just recently started a cupcake decorating business. At first things were good, but recently it has just fizzled out. I have business cards, and a webpage, but am stuck for ideas on how to get my name out there. Any ideas?

you've gor a good idea, what you need obviuosly is marketing/customers.

I recommend and usggest you use site sell, site sell is the same compnay I use for my consutling business in personal development (www.personal-goal-setting.com)

Site sell's emphasis is on: CTPM, content, traffic, presell, and Monetize. Site sell is a real business irrespective of your niche business, and for $299.00 per year, includes all your web tools, email, stat analysis.

You develop a custm website on cupcakes or baked goods, provide value content relating to baking/cupckaes, have several pages on favorite/best recipes etc. You could even do joint ventures with local bakeries or super markets in your area.

The marketing potential is endless-providing you have the dream and desire to succeed.

If you have any ??? email me at: wbindia@hotmail.com

Best and Good luck!

Wayne

Just a thought. Make little wrap around cards for the cupcakes and sell advertising space on them to local businesses. Then give them to a school or local charity/community organisation to use as a fund-raiser in exchange for free advertising for you in their newsletter and also via a business card or flyer given to each person that buys one of these cupcakes describing your business and perhaps a discount on their first purchase. Write a press release about the event for your local and surrounding area newspapers to get some coverage and post a few flyers around on community noticeboards.

You could do this for a few schools etc across your surrounding area in one big hit for mass coverage.

Also you could offer to businesses that buy advertising space a discount on their first purchase with you for their staff functions. Never know your luck.

The advertising revenue would easily cover the cost of cupcakes etc and you should have a nice little bit of profit left over.

Also, if you haven't already, put some advertising on your car.

Are you asking for referrals from past customers?

Are you contacting customers before their anniversary date so you'll catch them when they need to order again? For instance, if you do a big party for Mary S. last August, contact her in July so she doesn't have to find your number again.

Also, consider a joint-promo with some of the b-day parties in town. For instance, print an offer that gives a discount to a party place for those who order their cupcakes through you.

How about doing a raffle at big events?

Just some ideas. I hope they help!
