Is it a good idea to embed external site on your website?

If you embed a famous website on your website without permission of course it will certainly attract more people. But the way I see it, this is like stealing the content of another site to promote your own. Isn't it wrong or against the law to do this? Is is a good idea at all?

There are ways to get content that is good onto your site through RSS feeds, this is a legit method of getting updated content, but iframing a site is stealing the other websites bandwidth if you do so without their permission. Also the search engines do not see the content of an iframe so it does not help your SEO on page. You are best to create your own content and then add some rss feeds into it. At least the rss feeds are spidered by the search engines.
